Retention for house

    Hey,
My aunt intends to sell her house. The house was built around 1975 and the garage around 1980, both without planning permission. Is retention permission required for these before the sell, and would this mean she will have to get someone to submit drawings to the planners?

She will not be able to sell without having planning permission...so...yes, retention permission will be required.

It does not matter how long the structures have been there, without the necessary permissions it would be (virtually) impossible to transfer title.

Is there anything else you want to explain?
