    Anyone read about this tablet.

Their v919 tablet, dual boots both Windows 8 and Android. Be a bit dodgy about getting it from China, but would love the idea of having a fully functioning Windows 8/Android device...

I understand the Android side of things doesn't do calls just data (3g) but still interesting enough considering the price point of about 200 dollars...

Seen it talked about in Bargain alerts but typical people knocking brands they don't recognize from China.

Might pick up just the Android version myself!

Looks like a good tablet for the money!

That company Onda were listed in another thread of fairly decent Chinese companies.. so I'll definitely have to look and see how it fairs

Bit more info I've been digged up on these...

    From a forum, translated...

Win8 / Android dual system X98 Air 3G is running win8 system based on the original model on Andrews, the first time a dual-system hot key to switch. Since the first edition of the dual system is to facilitate business use, and in order to maintain the stability of the machine, so we have temporarily closed the win8 the 3D rendering capabilities and camera features, it may not run smoothly 3D games and play HD video in win8 under. But all business applications (office office software) perfectly smooth operation.

    To make that clearer:

Switching between Android and Windows 8.1 is accomplished by simply pressing a hardware button. There are limitations on the Windows side — the camera will not work and 3D graphics have been turned off. This is not a tablet for people who want to play Windows games or who intend to use the camera when running Windows. Also, HD video will not play well on Windows. But the tablet is otherwise fully functional on the Windows side for business applications.

    This caught my interest
    http://www.phonearena.com/news/The-perfect-iPad-Air-clone-has-arrived-this-tablet-dual-boots-Android-and-Windows-8.1-has-3G-connectivity-aluminum-unibody-and-200-price_id64239

Not sure whether there are two models or if they are all dual boot.
Some searches only mention android or windows and not both.

Also see some sites selling a 1 GB RAM model.

Update: Did some quick searching and there are indeed at least two models.
Make sure you're buying the latest one with 2 gig of RAM and dual OS

This also looks like a good one

Am getting very tempted to order the dual boot windows and android Onda V919 air.

Having played around with a Linx 7 and full windows on a tab, I'm liking the potential of both OS on one device.

Seems like all the usual sites are roughly the same price for the 32gb white model. There's also a 64 gig model just out which might make more sense taking into account the space both OS will use up.

Any recommended sellers instead of Bang good?

Any Onda users around who'd care to share their experience?

Heard that Telcast is a better offering as the Onda suffers from having both operating systems running at the same time.

32 gig dual boot V919 ordered. Was looking for the 64gb but most reputable sellers only getting stock end of this month. SDHC cards are dirt cheap lately so happy with 32 gig and a good sized external card for media.

The Teclast seemed to have a poorer rep for support/patches. There is feck all difference hardware wise between the two. Teclast has HDMI which Onda doesn't. I'll use Chromecast/miracast instead if needed.

There's a video on Asian forums showing both running side by side. No performance differences but Teclast takes 30-40 seconds longer to switch from one OS to the other.

Apart from two threads on XDA there's not much online in English about them as they're so new. Google translate has helped greatly!

Any info I got was from forums comparing the two... the performance on the Android side of things supposed to be slow enough on Onda, as it's a virtualized version running off the Windows side of things..

Won't know till it turns up though

    Very impressed with my Telcast!

I do find Windows 8 to be much sharper than Android though.

Very handy for work with a 10 Euro a month 15GB SIM card in it!

Looks like there are pros and come to both the teclast and the onda.
Onda seems to run faster in Windows and switch between OSs faster. Sound is mono speaker and no HDMI out.
I went with the onda as I don't need HDMI out and use earphones or Bluetooth speakers. Speed is what I wanted.

This site has good comparisons between the two and info on rooting and upgrading firmware.

    Two threads on XDA:

My v919 air arrived yesterday. Just under 14 days for delivery. Lucky I had it ordered before Chinese new year delays. Cost was just over EUR 200 delivered, customs would have added another 70 euro approximately if I'd been charged.

I went with the 32 gig dual boot 3g model. There is a 64 gig model for a few extra Euros that would be a better buy but I was too impatient to wait the extra couple if weeks for launch.

Design wise it is very similar to iPad air. Makes it easy when picking up cases and I was able to get an iPad air case to fit.

A dual boot tablet will take you twice as long to setup and tweak so I'm only posting my initial thoughts for now.

Screen is as good as expected and no faults. A nice bright high resolution screen. Sound is average through the speaker - yes it only had one!

A quick google will bring up guides on how to connect to wifi and install/download English language pack for Windows. (I used the videos on techtablets.com). Tablet ships with default language as Chinese for both OS.

Performance is more than satisfactory in either OS. Switching between full windows and android is quick and effortless. I added a 64gb sdhc card and have set it as default storage for windows. I've had none of the issues some have reported with Win and WiFi. It's too early for me to comment on battery.

I stuck VLC, MX player and kodi on the windows did and all running well. YouTube app in android seems to limit quality to 720p. Screen can handle much higher so need to play around with it.

Onda's version if android seems close to stock. I played baround with nova launcher and the google now launcher. Using google now for the moment.

Initial thoughts are very good and happy so far.
Screen size and resolution are top and makes Win 8.1 a lot more user friendly and practical unlike smaller screened win devices. At the price I paid it's a bargain and whilst I'm sure I'll discover shortcomings you need to factor in price!

Reviews starting to appear on English speaking blogs.
This one is just up and is a pretty honest/accurate opinion http://techtablets.com/onda-v919-air-3g-dual-boot/onda-v919-air-3g-dual-boot-review/

I've spent more hands on time with the android OS and am pleasantly surprised by performance compared to Nexus tablets. Remember that this costs half what a nexus 9 costs. Screen and video playback performs well. Sound with built in speaker is only suitable for short YouTube clips. Use headphones or BT speaker for decent audio.

I hope to spend some more time playing around with the Windows side over next few days. Have encountered an issue sharing the same sdxc card between the two OSs. I've also seen an infrequent low memory warning in windows. May be due to tab running a load of updates at same time.

If anyone is looking for a good android tablet for browsing and video playback the android only version of this would be well worth considering. I'll hold off judgement on how useful and practical having both OS on the one tab for me is for a few days. Am still undecided whether having both offers some cool/new/must hav functionality and practical applications or is just a gimmick and latest fad from the east.

The cube T9 is a good alternative to this or i6 if you need dual os
