    Hey folks

Looking for a bit of advice

I'm trying to decide which company to change to from Eircom. Currently we have 24Mb broadband, it syncs around 22Mb. It used to work fine but over the last 16 months or so the routing to Europe has gotten extremely bad.

I play alot online so stable latency is important. I ping 10ms to Irish servers so I know its not a local issue.

If I change to Sky will this improve, or do they share Eircoms international nodes/equipment. I know Vodafone don't so they're my second choice because of the download cap, Sky is a good bit cheaper too

    Are there any other options?

    Thanks alot

    From the IT:
Sky’s fibre product uses Eircom’s fibre-to-the-cabinet eFibre network, while its DSL service is delivered via its wholesale partnership with BT Ireland.

So the core network is BT, that gets you to Dublin and Belfast. Past that I'm not sure, there are a few players. They could buy everything from BT including the transit or work with whatever T1's they use in the UK.

    Thanks ED E

I`ll try posting in the speed test thread and see if Sky DSL customers can do a few trace routes for me

I`ll ring Vodafone tomorrow as well to see if they can offer any decent pricing plan, they'd be the safe bet for gaming I feel
