i am travelling to liverpool in a few weeks time and am hoping to avoid staying overnight as hotels are very expensive, there's a train that leaves liverpool central at 2345 that gets to holyhead at 0219 and the irish ferries sailing from holyhead to dublin is at 0240, has anyone ever travelled on this service before or a similar late service and able to board the ferry?

check Irish Ferries check in time but I wouldn't say that's long enough. The ship docks a 5-10 min bus journey from the train station.

On foot you have to check in 30 min in advance at least so that's not enough time. Also trains leaving Liverpool Lime St at 2143 arrive holyhead at 0048 which would be better.

yeah i wouldn't make that train, i'm going to a football match and it won't be over till around 2150.a lad in work said he did it a while ago and got on to the ferry but to be honest i have my doubts.i might give irish ferries a bell tomorrow.
    thanks for the replies lads.
