Also, if Back To The Future was only released this year and Marty went back 30 years... he'd be going back to 1985; the year Back To The Future was actually released.

Is it just me or has the last ten years of my life flew in when compare it to the previous ten years??

Isn't there some theory to do with having a timeframe to compare it to or something.

When you're younger, years are proportionally longer, for example when you are 4 years of age the next year is a 1/4 of your previous life and feels very long.

But for a fifty year old another year is only 2% of your life so far. Not a theory as such, just perspective.

If you want to "slow time down time" then you should try new things as much as you can.

Almost feels like going to prison might not be so bad. Time would surely slow down. :pac:

15000 days old on September 10th this year, if that isn't a reason to throw a party, I don't know what is

I didn't recognise the names of any of the famous people they compared me to.

    That means that:

    (A) I'm to old and senile and Alzheimer-ey to remember who they are

    (B) I'm too young to remember those old fogeys

    I'm gonna go with option (B) !

When I was 6 weeks old, the first handheld mobile phone call was made by Martin Cooper of Motorola. That makes me seem practically modern. But I'm not.

Interesting stuff but I'm not freaked out in the least. The fact that we get older and closer to dying with every passing day, isn't exactly breaking news to me.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,641 ✭✭✭Teyla Emmagan

I was born when the world's population was about 4 billion. Now it is over 7.

That really freaks me out. Poor earth, how does she cope with so many additional smelly bastards.

Microsoft was founded a month after I was born.

    I did my father's...
    June 28th, 1838:
The Coronation of Queen Victoria takes places at Westminster Abbey
Nearer to your birth date than today!

    My own:
    December 21st, 1937:
The Disney movie Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs premiers
Nearer to your birth date than today!

But still over 2.5 years to my 15000 day old birthday party :P

Your age is approximately half the total years between the event and today.

The Soviet invasion of Afghanistan was only December 1979, so that can't be right... unless you're 17?

I initially misread it the way Cathy did too. The way you've written it makes the dates of the events look like the dates of your and your dad's birth.
I'm guessing your father is now in his late 80s though and you're in your late 30s?
