I've a samsung smart tv with Aerial and Satellite connected . Aerial picks up irish channels and the sat gets the astra 2 channels. Only problem is that a load of the sat channels are locked even free to air channels . Is there anyway to decode or get them unlocked . Thanks .

Not possible on the actual tv. You will need a set top box and subscription.

This lists the Free-To-Air channels available from 28 degrees. Some HD versions of ITV2,3,4 etc are subscription only. Some UK channels are free on UK terrestrial (Freeview) but not on satellite.

You need to set the TV to County=UK if you want Freesat. You need to scan for Free to air channels, excluding the scrambled ones.

It is just a question of doing the setup the best way to get what you want.

By the way, what is the model number?

My apologies for wasting your time , I thought there was actually more channels on FreeSat. however I have rescanned the channels using UK as Sat country and removed all scrambled ones. Must say for an older TV its sweet no need for set top box and Samsung UE40D6500ZF 3D LED Smart TV. got it on pixmania a few years back.

    ! EDIT !

One or two still missing like Film 4. still cant complain.

    Thanks again.

Here is the list of FreeSat channels. A few other lesser channels are also available FTA but not on a FreeSat listing. Remember FreeSat is simply a listing/EPG software using the same FTA channels from the same satellites
