Edinburgh hotel

Hi can anyone recommend a good hotel for myself and my wife in centre of Edinburgh it must be handy for the shops pubs etc at least a 3 star or 4 any help would be a great help also is the train services easy to use getting from airport and back etc

The bus service to the airport is very good and reliable, though I think they've finally finished the tram line and you can get that too. Get day tickets for the days you will be there.

On previous trips to Edinburgh I have stayed in
Dunstane House - very nice, big breakfasts, short bus trip in and out of the centre.
Premier Inn, Haymarket - standard Premier Inn - handy for the train station
Hotel Ceilidh Donia - which I picked for the name - quiet, good breakfasts, bus around the corner.

I'm a fan of the Apex Waterloo

It is very near all the shops, restaurants, bars etc etc. It is beside the main train station. It has fab spa/pool too, which not a lot of hotels in central Edinburgh will have.

I stayed at the Premier Inn and it was ideal; close to everything and a lovely room with super cosy bed!

Blingy

Stayed in the fraser suites a few years back and really enjoyed our stay. Some of the rooms are downstairs with only tiny windows but ours was upstairs and nice and bright. Even had a little kitchen. Very central.

Stayed in the parliament house hotel about 2 years ago. Was really nice. Staff were very friendly and was in a great location
