Boiler Pressure

    Happy New Year everyone

We have a gas boiler with a pressure meter that goes from 0 to 4. There are two zones set up for the house - central heating and hot water, which are controlled manually using a valve in the hotpress.

When the 'hot water' zone is on, the pressure hovers at about bars fairly regardless of the temperature setting on the boiler. But once the 'central heating' zone is on, the pressure rises to 4 bars if the temperature dial is any more than 1/3 of the way up.

I know next to nothing about this - but I think the pressure being up that far means something is wrong? Can anyone please advise?

    Thanks,
    S

Normal pressure should be 1.25 bar in water and 1.25 bar air in red expansion vessel when cold, riseing up to 1.75 - 2 bar max when hot.
Automatic Saftey pressure release valve can / should blow at 3 bar. It should never have to.
    Get a service.
