    Hi All,

Looking for a cover band to perform at a family event in the cork - limerick region in mid January, if someone can direct me to a group or recommend a suitable band it would be greatly appreciated.

You'll need to supply more details. Such as:
    • What kind of band?
    • What date?
    • How much are you paying?
    • How long do they need to play for?

All rather personal as I do not wish to publicly declare the event details but would happily discuss via PM the event is on on the 10th of January

If you were hiring someone for a job would you simply advertise

    "Employee wanted, PM for details"

Details are helpful to both the musicians and the yourself so nobodies time is wasted

I would give a vague overview and discuss the finer details with those interested personally and take it from there, I do apologise but I do not wish to publicy state the venue or how much I am willing to pay.

A lively cover band that plays music similar to the cover band j90 and some traditional irish music also

The only question there that could be legitimately described as being somewhat personal is the question of payment, and that's a bit of a stretch in itself. Stating the date, type of band required and amount of time you need them for is vital. Otherwise, you could very easily have people who are well up for the gig but happen to be an acid jazz band who are only free on the 30th and only perform a 6 hour concept set, when what you actually need is a lively cover band for a few hours on January 10th. But now it's taken 5 posts and a lot of unnecessary exposition to arrive at this completely vital information.

The reason I bring this up is there are a lot of threads like this in the forum, where people are looking for bands for parties, events etc. but the ones like this where the OP seems to go out of their way to give as little information as possible ALWAYS go down poorly and get little response. The reason is that when you deliberately attempt to obfuscate the details, bands immediately conclude that you're not gonna be fair when it comes to remuneration and they wash their hands of it before they even think of getting in touch.

Anyway, I hope you do get a band for your event. Best of luck.
