Tbh I don't know how minerals will stay in an animals system unless its a bolus .
The most important time for minerals is dry period and breeding.
Have you any breeding problems as it us to consider changing?

Few lads beside me have gave up the bolus and upped the mins in the nut all season getting great results fertility wise. I don't feed as much nuts as these and thought this might be a good boost a few week before calving and breeding. Using osmonds copper and high fert bolus past few years not saying there's anything wrong with them but if the other stuff gets them incalf better I'd switch

Forgot to say no real problems running at 8% empty this year. Wasn't happy with heifers though 3 empty out of 34

That's very good performance. You will get the odd yr with some hiccup though .
I wouldn't see how a powdered or lick mineral can stay in a cows system. They need a constant supply of minerals but not an oversupply

Yea it's been under 10% past few year but they're not a high yielding herd mostly rotbunt x which helps fertility. This stuff yer mans selling is in liquid form as far as I know and ya use the dosing gun ta give it. I agree a constant supply but who knows wats in any of these nuts we're feeding especially the lower end ones. That's why we always bolus pre breeding to give a burst of mins and vits
