Hankook Kinergy. Got them in Milbrook motors in Oldcastle.

They are very cheap for tyres but they will try and tell you that your car needs a heap of work done to it while they have you there. That's the only reason I don't let them do any other work on my car.

Just a straight up question. Is there a difference between these summer tyres, winter tyres and wets?
Should a normal car, driving normal roads and doing normal mileage use the ones suggested in the op all year round or should we in Ireland be looking for something different .
Looking for a short answer and don't want to have to wade through loads of posts only to read conflicting views.

Winter tyres are for persistent low temperatures, close to or below zero. Most of the time they'll be performing outside their intended conditions in Ireland. Decent summer tyres with good thread will be optimal most of the time. Unless you absolutely have to do a lot of driving in really cold weather, winters are a bit pointless.

Winter tyres are more effective below 8 degrees and especially in the wet/snow. Highly recommended at this time of year IMHO.
