    1. Is it normal not being asked to sign in to gmail.

    2. I installed Firefox app, is there anyway to set homepage to google.ie

    3. Was asked to sign up to FF account which I did so do I have to log in to FF to get option 2 above.

Like my desktop, I just want to use FF as my browser but with home page set as google.ie

    1. You should have been prompted to sign into your Google account when you first booted the phone. Assuming you're using the Gmail app, you'll never need to sign in to it (or any other Google app) since you're essentially constantly signed into your Google account.

    2. There's no home page on Firefox mobile (or Chrome for that matter). You can pin a site to the Bookmarks page, which is the page you get when you open a new tab.
Isn't having Google.ie as a homepage a bit redundant though? The address bar searches Google for you by default.

Do you mean swype? Hold down the comma to bring up Google Keyboard Settings, go to Gesture Typing, then disable gesture typing.

When I'm typing passwords or messages the letter are underlined, not always but sometimes, as I'm obviously hitting something that turns it on but I cant figure out what.

I'm only tapping single characters at a time, so not swishing by finger accross keys if thats what you mean by swype.

Sounds like you might need to dial down auto-correction "aggressiveness" a notch, same settings location as I described above.

Everyone finds it annoying at first but just stick with it, its by far the most efficient way to enter text.
