Check your Chromecast app regularly for offers...

Not sure if people knew this, but if you own a Chromecast (and who doesn't ), go to the app and hit the settings menu, for an option called "Check for Offers".

Some people just got chromecast recently so it's very relevant. Don't get why people put comments like this on a BA

got the chromecast in the summer, I didnt know this

I don't see the option "Check for Offers" on the Settings menu on mine. Maybe that's only there is there are currently available offers. I have my Chromecast for over a year and never availed of any offers.

When your in the app click on the chromecast first (e.g .. Living Room Chromecast) It should say ready to cast.

Once you see the cc info hit settings then. (in where you can change time, language, etc...)

I signed up to nowTV offer but I cant download the app because I'm not in the UK. Is there another way to watch otherwise its gone to waste.

If it's an iPhone or iPad you are using then change the country of your iTunes account to UK. It should be available to download then.

If it is an Android device then you may be able to find the APK online and then install it on your device.

Same issue here. Even after installing via apk, and using a UK VPN, it won't run and says it's incompatible with the SIM card or something. Haven't tried it on tablet yet.

Using it on tablet and works fine while casting to chromecast....hope this helps !!

Do you have an american chromecast? On my American one it has huluplus and Google play and my irish one has nowtv and Google play. And I already have a Google play subscription.

So after some reading. It seems like it check aerial number and knownls where it was bought from ish. So no nowtv for me. Even rooted i dont think there is way to bypass that.

I got Now TV trial but I can't get it to cast. It won't work in Chrome Browser from my PC and the Now TV app is not on the Play store.

thanks op - hadn't know about this either. I got 3 months hulu access, which i assume won't work. I also got 3 months free all access music, which should work if i could be arsed signing up for it.

on the NowTV offer - the chromecasts in pcworld and currys all have this 3 month offer so if they're selling them in ireland then it should be accessible?

Yep I've got 2 chromecasts and never checked the offers bit till the OPs post, 3mths NOW (I have a NOW box!) and 3mths Play Music so about 60 quids worth of stuff I'd probably never have checked.

I think you have to remove sim from phone or tablet as it knows you're in Ireland through that.

Managed to download and cast via my chromecast but can't use movies or sports it's telling me I need a specific pass. I did it by hiding my ip address if it's useful to anyone else

I posted earlier tried my iPhone and tablet to try and download app and it kept telling me it wasn't available in my area so it only worked for me when I hid my ip. Anyone know if this is going to be rolled out in Ireland looks good...?
