Parcel motel

I ordered meds online and they were delivered on the 10th to parcel motel. I still hadn't got them by sat and after many phone calls. I was told customs had seized the parcel and it had been destroyed. Apparently this happens all the time in their depot ? Just a warning for people ordering stuff online that can't be got here :(
Parcel motels service & customer service has been incredibly shoddy as of late and I won't be using them again. This is my second parcel to go missing ,I also received someone else's stuff and when I went to open a locker that should have been empty there was something else inside. Parcels just don't seem to be that safe with them anymore

Was it a fake item phone, clothing, runners, etc? it does happen with anpost too not just Parcel Motel, Did they not notify you by letter that was seized and destroyed?

Thanks for the heads up. I was going to order over the counter medicine from the UK that's not available here. They probably destroy all medicine.

Nothing to do with Parcel Motel. What you did was illegal and the same thing would have happened whatever courier or postal service you had used.

Its illegal to import medicine by post and it was seized and destroyed by customs not parcel motel. The same thing would have happened if they were delivered by An Post.

I order the whole time using parcel motel, never lost a parcel.

I only order over the counter meds. Most are made in Clonmel.

Who comes on here to admit they tried to import illegal meds and then blame the courier when not delivered!

Seriously bad service from them at the minute. I have a parcel sitting in their depot here in Dublin since Friday the 18th. they said that they cleared their backlog over the wekend but 'for some reason' this parcel wasn't delivered. their next delivery is on the 27th of December and even still they could not guarantee that the parcel would be in that delivery. Beyond farcical!

They weren't illegal meds . Just cheaper to source else where

Its still against the law unless you have a licence to import them as far as I know.

  • Just as well they did destroy them....it's dangerous ordering this type of stuff online as you really don't know what's in them!

What's the norm when a parcel goes missing in theirdepot? I ordered an item through Amazon and it's missing since the 16th. Although the people on the phone are nice they just don't seem to have any information to give me. I submitted a support request online but yesterday an hour after my second phone call to them, they closed my request saying all queries have been dealt with and if it's not to re open the request. Seriously I'm not impressed.

I'm somewhat confused. Are you saying that they made it to the parcel motel in Belfast/Dublin (which would mean they'd have gotten through customs) only for them to be examined again at the motel? Seems odd to me. Did it say in your account that it was in transit?

Ordering meds online is risky, some get through some don't from what I've read.

The OP's complaint seems to be being entirely glossed over. A package delivered to parcel motel was subsequently destroyed by customs, parcel motel did not inform the OP about this development, it took "many phone calls" for the OP to find out what happened to his package. It's a customer relations complaint folks.

My parcel still missing as mentioned above. Rang 3 times over the Xmas. Was promised a call back on two occasions but am still waiting. Submitted two support requests which have also fallen on deaf ears. Am seriously pissed off with the chances.

Well it's the 24th Feb and i am still waiting on a refund rang them numerous times and submitted a claim form over a month ago. Have never once received a call back or communication from them of any type without having to initiate it myself.

About 3 weeks ago i got an undertaking that i would have a cheque the following friday (seemingly the lad that signs the cheques is only there on a Wednesday). Still haven't received it last friday so called again and was told it is being processed this wednesday as they lost the previous cheque - some going for a courier company! They will not confirm how much they are refunding me either.

An absolute joke of a company

I have to agree with this. Parcel Mobile's customer service is terrible of late. I think it has got very bad since John and Dave sold in May 17 -nobody in charge now- no accountable person. I am a big customer of them and it still makes no difference. If there was a competing company out there I would move to them straight away but there is nt at the moment at least

MOD: please don't put the same post across multiple threads.
