    Hi All,

I got a letter in the mail today saying that from 1st Feb 2015 they are increasing the monthly cost.

Because of this increase does that mean they are changing the contract and I can cancel without penalty ?

if your in a 12 month contract , the price shouldn't increase for you until the contract ends.

Sorry, that's incorrect. Read the T & C's and you will see that Sky reserve the right to increase the price by anything up to 10% during the first 12 months which is the minimum contract period.

I don't agree with it obviously but that's the way it is unfortunately.

They could do with getting rid of a load of the crap channels and reducing the price.

Is there a set rise on each package or just the overall cost?

It might push people to go the saorview route/slightly different methods for their tv watching.

We dropped 2 multiroom subs and the sports in the last year and just have one hd+ box. The saorview stuff with both terrestrial and satellite connection does the job, and if we need the extra sky stations, they can be viewed on the xbox/sky go apps.

Not only that but a lot of the crap channels are FTA channels that pay handsomely to be on the EPG.
