Just wondering if there's a site where you can enter a product you want to buy in Duty free (say Jameson 1L), Airport you're leaving from (DUB) & airport you're returning from (JFK), it'll tell you where it's cheaper ?

Assuming you don't need it for the duration of your trip, I've paid over the odds several times buying in Dublin on the way out for the thing to live in the suitcase for the duration of the trip & find out it's less in the duty free of the country you're in (on the way out).

Moving from After Hours (could go to Consumer Issues too I suppose). Please read the current charter.

Not that I know of but a good idea

I bought 400 fags recently in Gatwick for £65, flew to Guernsey and the same ones were only £46!

Duty Free seems to be just a wheeze these days. More often than not you can get stuff cheaper on the high street than in duty free.

I think the fact that you can't see the prices for most duty free items online tells you something about their prices. They wait until they have a captive market who will buy almost anything at almost any price because they are in holiday mode and/or someone returning from a business trip who forgot to buy something for the kids.

I tried contacting one of the shops in Dublin and a similar competitor in an overseas airport before so I could check which one would have the lower price. Neither responded. They aren't interested.
