So the BenQ 24inch monitor that was suppose to arrive yesterday has been returned to Germany!!!
Need a replacement for Christmas cause Santa does not mess up.
Looking at a few options on adverts at the mo and would appreciate any opinions.
    Currently have this 20 inch dell 1680 X 1050.
I have found a few potential runners on adverts and would appreciate your thoughts. Bear in mind it will only be a GTX 750 running this (current games are running on the G1820 intel graphics  so it can only get better).
Mostly minecraft and mount and blade so nothing too intense.

    Asus VE278Q 27" LED for 200

    Asus 24 inch D LED Monitor VS247NR for 130

    Hanns-G HZ281HPB 28inch 1920 x 1200 for 160

LG 24M45HQ-B - LED monitor - 23.6 askin 220 (would be looking for it a lot cheaper though)

    Any help is much appreciated

If it's of any use PC world sometimes have some decent enough monitors at not unreasonable prices.

a tiny bit smaller than what you had ordered but the AOC 23 inch or Philips 23 inch are both IPS panels and while they're not the biggest brand I always think the AOC IPS screens look very well. Might not be perfect but it's an option anyway.

At least you might be able to go down and have a look in person.

    here's a review/overview of that AOC one http://www.pcadvisor.co.uk/reviews/pc-peripheral/3509789/aoc-i2369vm-review/

What would have more impact a 27inch (non ips) or a 23.5 inch IPS? I have a feeling the the 27 would go down better seen as he has been gaming quiet happily on the muck we have ATM.

A child wont notice the difference between TN and IPS much/at all, but the size will probably wow him. As long as the 27 has a decent response time Id do it.

Thanks man. That is what I'm thinking. So cheapest place to pick up a 27inch 1080p today or tomorrow anyone?

A quick google of the Hanspree shows it to be a pretty good monitor. Nice size as well.

That said your current monitor is far from 'muck' - looked it up out of curiosity and reviews generally praising it for 2ms response and sharp color. What's muck about it? Or is it just the size? Just wondering really.

Tbh I was referring to the integrated graphics as much as the monitor. Its perfectly fine really but would like bigger. It will be kept for sure as a 2nd screen.

Dunno about running a 27" monitor at 1080p, especially for Minecraft. When I turn my monitor down to 1080p it looks ridiculous as everything is huge, especially when you're only sitting a foot away! TBH, in your shoes I'd just pop down to Argos and buy this.
