    Hi,

anyone sitting on Aer Lingus gains, but also unused their Cap Gains Allowance
    (e1270) for 2014??

thinking of selling before end of tax year, to utilize my allowance,

lets says sell at e2.20 today and then, they keep rising...

I wont really have lost anything if this extra amount would of meant my sold holding would be greater than
    e1270 x 33% = e381 euro??

and I keep my 2015 cap gains allowance.

I'm sure this is a common annual question for investors,

    does my logic seem sound?

    JR

What is the cost of doing a B&B for these shares?

    about e50 round trip,
but this itself can get written off against profit.

I am not too concerned about re-buying,
if sell at say e 2.20
and offer accepted at say 2.50
approx 10% upside ain't worth the risk of no buyout coming...

€1270 is a fairly miserable allowance
