Campagnolo Zondas, light but strong. Got mine 2nd hand for €200. Wiggle are doing them for €326

Already have a set and kinda wondering what would be next in line after them.

bullet 50's are great the other half races on them

Sorry to hijack but my training wheels are giving up the ghost - would the Zondas double well as a set of lower end racing and training wheels? I'd be putting fairly decent volume on them so want to get decent training wheels which will last and if I need to use to them to race intermittently too cheers

Mavic GP4's with Campag Super Record hubs and Sapim DB spokes :P

Mavic Kysrium SLS tubular wheelset with a dura ace 12-21T casette is what Santa has in line for me. I think they are dear enough but the owner of the LBS swears by them...!

Look at wheelsmith.co.uk wheels. I love my carbon tubs from them

I've found zondas are great all rounder great up hills super bomb proof wheel a great roll on the flat super value for money hard to beat

Looking at the wheels like the shamals or the Kysrium, the Zondas hold up very well in comparison

I used to race on Mavic Ksyrium SLs years ago (the red spoke type) so when I decided to get back training & racing they were exactly what I wanted. Great climbing, light, fast, classy and not too expensive.

i use Zipps for racing but have Ksyrium Elite among others for back up and think they are extremely good all rounders and value for money. For training on Irish roads in winter I use Mavic open pro 36hole on ultegra hubs.......bombproof!!

+1 on open pros and ultegra hubs.

Yep good solid training wheels but the OP is looking for racing wheels , I have a set of open pros and I wouldn't recommend them for racing in , he'd be better off staying with his zondas .

I'd put the elites in the same league as maybe fulcrum 3s , and if it was my choice I'd go for the fulcrum 3s as they roll a bit better , although the elites are a good solid stiff wheel , maybe a bit of a harsher ride .
I haven't raced in about 7 years so I wouldn't be too in touch with what lads are racing on but if I was buying a set to race on it would be fulcrum zeros.

About 600-700. Hoping I might pick up some in the sales hence why I asked.

Get a set of Scirocco 35's for training and bashing around and Zonda's for racing. A bit of shopping around and you may get them both for under 600

I've ridden lots of wheels in or around your price region and for me nothing comes close to Dura Ace C24. Brilliant climbing, acceleration and sprinting!
