Removal of load bearing wall: how many RSJs?

    Hello,
just got a load bearing wall removed, about 3.2 meters large.

I was initially told by 2 different tradesmen they would install 2 upright RSJs and 1 horizontal one across them, eventually the tradesman I chose ended up installing 1 vertical and 1 horizontal only, he said they will be enough to support the structure.

Without going into details, is it common practice to install 2+1 or also 1+1 is a valid solution is some cases?

Also, should I get them to sign off the work at the end? thanks.

we can't offer an opinion on what was installed. Seek PI insured structural engineer to provide the cert. he must see this structure before its closed back up to offer any sort of a decent opinion/cert

ok thanks, did not mean to get any specific advice, just whether there may be scenarios (not mine, just any) where only one vertical RSJ would be enough.
