Rear lights on Audi A3 1.6 102 HP Attraction

    Hi,

I noticed that the white light under main one is out on the right when reversing but the red light in the same area works fine.

The exact opposite is occurring on the left side. Red light not working but the white one beside it is ok.

I have an NCT coming up in Jan so want to get this sorted.

Could i buy new bulbs in B&Q or similar and fit myself ? Or would i be better visiting a mechanic or Audi North Dublin go get it fixed. I imagine Audi ND would charge plenty for this :-)

    Thanks for any tips

I think you should only have one reversing (white) light and the same spot on the opposite side of the car is the rear fog light, i may be wrong.

Rear fog on one side, reverse light on the other.

you can do it your self , get a eurob ulb kit , or the single bulbs in a motor factors , its usually easy to take out the back bulbs , may have to unscrew the wiring shelf on the rear left side of some versions to get the bulb holder out.

there are you tube vids to help

Just while this is being mentioned and the OPs question has been answered - is there a reason why cars often only have one reverse light?

Seems a very odd thing to do, in my opinion. I had a Focus before, where the reverse light was on the bottom left (if looking at the back of the car). Was great for illuminating the ground, etc. but sure you couldn't see a thing at the back on the driver's side

The Rav4 and 407 (only other two cars i've owned) seem to have it right with regards to having a reverse light on both sides..

Generally the 3 door only has one reversing light, and the sportback 5 door has two.
