    Hi guys,

    I have a 2012 mini.

The place where I bought it from, for the same spec (Mini cooper, 1.6 petrol, red/alloys (no "pack" on it) are looking for a e9000 trade in.

In a bit of a "huh?" moment, I just laughed at the time. e300 is what he came down by (again, I laughed).

I know cars depreciate...but, is it very high?

I know Ive to pay to trade in, but e9000 for 3 years?

Am thinkin Id just be better off to hang on to it (I own it). Dont think I want to pay the bones of 10gs every year.

Alternatively, the Duke it lookin' good.

    Doesn't sound outrageous.

Donedeal, got 3 grand more for my Skoda selling it there than a trade in. and eventually imported car from a garage in the north and got a discount paying cash. had to bridge it temporarily fortunately finances allowed.

€9k to trade up 3 years is by no means unrealistic. Remember your 2012 MINI is now the old model and the new one has only just been launched.

Its not 10k per year, it's 8.7k to move up 3 years or 2900 per year which is on the cheap side I would have thought unless you are only going up to a 13 model. In that case, it's robbery.

Sell it privately if you can. You'll make a lot more. Alternatively just keep your car. I've a 2007 Cooper S and have no intention of changing anytime soon. Then again I bought it second hand with a massive spec. There are very few in Ireland like it.

Not sure if you'd make more privately tbh. Target market may want dealer finance/warranty etc.
If it were a few years older then maybe.

I would think €8700 is doing a pretty alright deal to be honest
