slow hd film download on apple tv

    the last two weekends it has taken hours for a hd film to download on the 3rd gen apple tv...whereas before, after renting a film we could watch it after an hour or two wait and able to watch all the way to the end...now its more than 8 hours to just get a 70% download..no settings have changed at all.. network speed is the same etc..about to chuck it out the window..

    Have you tried restarting it with the menu option?

    hi mad muffin,
    yes have done all that including pulling power lead out inc. full back to factory settings..noticed this morning that is just caches to 70-80% of film and stall at that.
    will go down route of d/l to laptop and then streaming it to the atv..

    would the latest update have reduced the available flash memory for caching?

    I wouldn't think so. Have you tried deleting the wifi connection and redoing it?
