    http://www.independent.ie/irish-news/news/get-used-to-violent-storms-warns-our-top-climate-expert-30851556.html

When I seen the title I thought to myself it might be worth reading.

Expected the expert to be from Trinity, UCD or UCC you know an actual real university that made into the TWUR until I seen
Professor John Sweeney, a climatologist at NUI Maynooth,
    the article lost all credibility.

We all know NUIM is a just a glorified clown college. "Top climate expert" :D

Said it before and I'll say it again. NUIM degree is the international equivalent of a FETAC level 1 certificate in flower arrangement.

Come to my workplace with NUIM on your CV and they will shred it.

Before you ask I went to KTH.

    what the....fook is this about?

OP just ranting about his academic snobbery?

It was so much easier to blame it on Them. It was bleakly depressing to think that They were Us. If it was Them, then nothing was anyone's fault. If it was us, what did that make Me? After all, I'm one of Us. I must be. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things.

    He didn't qualify at Maynooth
He received a First Class Honours B.Sc. from the University of Glasgow in
1974 and was a awarded a PhD also from Glasgow in 1980.

I have no idea of the point of op.

    Their snobbery isn't even coherent.

Obviously he didn't. He would just be on Jobbridge or on the dole. If the guy wants to be taken seriously though he shouldn't mention NUIM

    'When I seen the title.....'

That says it all about the OP's standard of education.

Btw, Mr. Sweeney is a well respected expert in the field of meteorology.

Maynooth is part of the NUI isn't it. So it's the same university as UCC, UCD etc.

    So. Many. Acronyms.

Pity "KTH" didn't teach you to use a full keyboard.
