    Well folks,

I've been on the lookout for a small enough secondhand tractor with a loader for the last while but nothing's coming up. I've been keeping an eye on DoneDeal and the likes but nothing is catching my eye. I hope to buy a case/international that will keep me going for a few years and my budget is E6000. Does anyone know of good secondhand dealers in Ireland that might help me out?

    Thanks for your help!

surly most if not all tractor dealers will have traded in tractors at this time of year/early in the new year??

There is a David Brown 1490 on DD at the moment, in Kilkenny. They are an underrated tractor. Things to check would include the condition of the front axle centre housing and pin, wear here will be expensive. Also check the front swivel hub, where the power steering ram connects. They have been known to crack apart, and are scarce enough in breaker yards. My cousins example suffered this a few weeks ago. David Browns own make of loader is very very good indeed, although the tractor in the ad. has a quickie fitted, and to be honest, this would do the job as well. Coming in just under your price limit. Hard to get much in a 4wd, that's not a wreck, at this price range. 2wd loader tractors a waste of time.

We had a DB 996 2wd with loader for a term, adequate til it came to round bales, not up to that job .1490 would be a good bet for the money, I'd be inclined to try NI or UK, better choice, better gear at his price range.
