ACCA Qualified or Finalist?

    Hi,

I've finished all my exams early this year and I'm still waiting to finish my 3 year training next summer.

I call myself an affiliate or a finalist (not that name is very important) but I've been getting calls from recruitment agencies saying that I'm qualified (The convo goes: Ah you finished all your exams so you're qualified and I say: Eh I still have a few more months left in my training) and trying to get me a newly qualified accountant job (which I'm grateful for!)

I also got a comment from my HR manager at our Xmas party where she was making a big deal out of me being qualified when I am not as far as I'm aware.

My knowledge was that you don't get qualified until you finish both the PER and the exams but is it an industry norm to consider yourself qualified when you finish the exams?

You should call yourself an ACCA Affiliate until you have all of your 3 years complete at which stage you will need to apply for membership.
Well done on finishing those exams

My understanding is that you require 3 years relevant experience for MEMBERSHIP of ACCA, but you only need to pass the exams to be considered QUALIFIED.

    Therefore the agencies are correct.

    Congrats :)
