Can't say what's legal, but I know the staff on night shift where I work are on time and a third for night shift up to 40 hours and time and a half after that.

We have a HR department so I'd imagine that means the time and a third is legally ok. This isn't a guideline, but I doubt your time and a half is correct.

    Have a read of this

Depends what kind of shift you are working. There is no legal requirement as far as I know.
I know of people who get 25% shift bonus and others who get 33% depends on the type of shift (weekends or not etc) and the sector/company
