Claim pending, Setanta issue

    Long story short, sorry to drag Setanta up again but I did a thread search and only found this;

    http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2057134714&page=15

    And that's closed.

    I had a van insurance policy through Setanta a few years back. The wife was named on the policy. She had an accident more than 2 years ago. The claim is still pending, apparently the other party was made an offer but rejected it in favour of going through the courts.

    What happens now that Setanta are done? Can that claim fall back on us? I've read various conflicting stuff about 65% being covered by one fund, or that the MIBI will/won't cover claims.

    I'm just crapping myself a little now that we will end up facing a huge personal injury claim (is there any other size of PI claim...) because the insurer has gone bust.

    Any clarification would be great. :(
