Gasket Sealant and Water Hose

    Hi all,

I have an e39 525d and recently the coolant pipe by the expansion tank burst. I got it towed home and am fitting a new pipe from the dealer.

Basically when I clip it in, I am able to pull it out again with not much force - as opposed to a lot of force required to remove the old pipe (after unclipping it of course).

I recon I have broken the connector on the engine side.

Do you guys think gasket sealant will hold it up for a few days as I won't have the time to remove the intake manifold during the week...

I have also posted this on bmw-driver forums (more than one opinion never hurt!)
