Need to get broadband and can't UPC so these 3 are my options.

I *think* I have mt figures here correct:
Sky Fibre - €30 per month for 6 months, €50 after
Eircom eFibre - €33 per month for 6 months, €53 after
Vodafone Fibre - €35 per month (unlimited, but actually 300GB)

(I also believe that ESB are behind Vodafone's offering?)

To me Vodafone looks like best option and putting it with Sky Original bundle still comes in cheaper than Eircom eFibre and eVision.

Am I missing something obvious that I should be thinking abot if choosing Vodafone?

    Vodafone are reselling Eircom's eFibre.

The ESB partnership is not selling their product yet

How are they offering it cheaper then?

Eircom retail and vodafone pay the same price to eircom wholesale, then add their own rates on top of it. Vodafone arent as broke as eircom is so they can probably operate with lower margins.

No, and when ESBT/VF's fibre launches, it'll be available to all companies wanting to resell it.

vodafone only comes in 18 month contract form, the other 2 are 12 month contracts.

I have fibre with vodafone and have no issues with it. I think if you have vodafone mobile they give you 5€ off for the first 6 months or something.

If you are condsidering sky fibre you need to confirm it is available. A mate of mine lives 100 yards from me and was with sky for broadband and couldnt get fibre. Changed to eircom and got it no problem.

Cheers. Looks like I'll go with Vodafone so. I'm sure if/when ESB/VF packages come out, I should be able to upgrade if faster speeds available.

If you're a heavy downloader, you should avoid Vodafone because they'll charge €1 for every 10GB you exceed the fair usage policy.

Do eircom / Sky and UPC not have a FUP then ?

No, they are truly unlimited *

    * Well outside of their entry level products that advertise a specific cap.

Well if you massively take the piss, they might contact you to take things easy, but I've never heard of that actually happening and they definitely won't charge you.

Vodafone on the other hand automatically start charging you when you go over the 300GB!!! Not Unlimited at all, someone should really make a complaint to the advertising authority and comreg about this.

Only time I've heard of upc doing it was to force a group of tenants to upgrade package when they absolutely hammered it 3 months in a row.

Often wondered how the FUP works. For instance. I'm on 300 GB but would rarely exceed 100gb, if we're talking about fairness then I should be allowed to download 500gb every second month.

...or receive a €1 reduction for each 10GB you're under the 300GB cap

    :pac:
