Faulty techflow QT120

I have a techflow QT120 installed for about 2.5 years. It feeds the hot water and the feed to the bathroom. My dad has one about a year longer. His pump has been faulty for a couple of months and he has not got it looked at. When it turns on, the only way to stop the pump is by cutting its power feed.

In recent weeks, I too have experienced on maybe 3 occasions where the pump kept going, even after the water had been switched off. Once, I simply turned a tap on and off again for the pump to power down, but twice, I had to switch the power supply off. Our pumps are slightly different, because he lives in an apartment and I live in a house, but they are both QT120 afaik. Is this a common problem? Other than this, my pump has been great and much quieter than other pumps I have heard. Would the repair likely be a simple one? I am guessing its some sort of faulty pressure switch, or something lime that.

I was looking for details on pump repair and I found my old, unanswered thread :(

As above, the problem persisted until today....now the pump wont turn itself off to the pump. I had to turn the power off. Maybe someone can help?

I was about to arrange a call-out by a plumber PM'd to me. Then the pump started working

So just as an update....(and to mark the 3 year warranty on a new pump), the QT120 started leaking about 2-3 weeks ago. At a guess, I would say the leak developed when the pump wasn't turning off, but it only became a noted problem recently, when we had some dripping through the ceiling. The pump had been working fine otherwise since my last post. The leak would only happen with the pump engaged, so for past week+, it was off.

I ordered a replacement from the UK (plumbworld) which comes with a 3 year manufacturers warranty. It's getting installed as I write this. Looking forward to having more than trickling tap water again. The bath takes an eternity to fill without the pump.

If I have issues with this within the next 5 years, I will be going for a different brand.
