Trying to buy a car at the moment. Something cheap as a second run around. I always had policy for myself that meeting a guy at a petrol station and handing over cash was a bad idea. Tried to buy a number of cars lately and all the sellers refuse to let me call around to their home. They are happy to loose the sale rather than have someone call to their home. Is this normal?

Yes because they don't want weirdos from the internet knowing where they live! Also people may use it as a chance to see is there anything to steal around the house! So normal enough i'd say.

    This.

Also, i have no problem meeting at neutral location, but the sale takes place at the sellers home, or no sale.

Initial viewing can take place at a neutral place but conclusion of the sale should be at the address of the seller/owner.

Thanks All. I just have a fear of the car being stolen or something. I'd have feck all comeback if I didn't know where the person lived.

Logbook will have to be viewed and signed so on the side seller or person wanting to conceal where they live will both be found out. You should verify by photographic ID they are the same person named on the logbook.
