Is the wireless turned on in the router's admin?

Have you tried a factory reset to see if it resolves things?

    Hi, thanks for the reply.

By factory reset do you mean pressing the reset button at the back of the box? Is there much of a job in reconfiguring things after the rest?

Yes, you press and hold the reset button (may be 10 - 30 secs)

With UPC the config is automatically pulled down by the router from their provisioning server.

You will need to update encryption key (and SSID if you wish) for the WiFi again after resetting the router
