its 200hz motion rate, powercity list the tv as being 50hz

motion rate is a software and marketting thing I think, spec thats matter is the 50hz panel rate, which is a pretty standard

Not a bargain i can tell you that, hold onto your receipts and insure it,bought one of these not long ago it stopped working after a couple months,Power city took the piss for over a month before giving me a credit note.

Yeah spose i could have just been unlucky but i'd insure if it i had the option in argos if anyone is getting one.

I'v had so many tvs in my life i couldn't count all shapes and sizes hasn't everyone, and i never seen a tv go like this before specially not a new one so i assumed it had to be fault with the model since they all come off a line made the same don't they.

Probably unlucky on my part but i'd never buy a toshiba again,i was lucky it went in the first year had it gone sometime down the line i would have been well pissed, and considering the difficulty i had to get Power city to sort me out given it was under guarantee i wouldn't hold my breath on getting it repaired or your money back when it goes past the first year.

Basically it's not going to be very sharp looking.

For me it's cheap but not good value. You'd be better paying another 40 and getting a better quality tv.

So would this one be better for an extra 40?

Definitely not a bargain unfortunately, only 720p is a bit of a killer as well.

Bad enough for a 32" these days but I was in Currys a while back, they had a 46" Samsung set that was only 720p, recent enough model too. Really surprised me - what are they doing, getting rid of old panels or something?

Keep onto your receipt folks! You can quote me in that, I had 3 of these units, 2x 32" and 1x40"

For no reason what so ever, the just died, all within 6 months, They are reduced for a reason and one reason only!

Can't comment on this, but bought a 32 inch Toshiba LCD 4 years back; still using it. Still works well.

Definitely aim for 1080p resolution for any tv above 24" at this stage. Remember even Saorview is broadcast in 1080i so tvs like this one aren't able to display it in its full resolution even

What about this? Don't know if the link will work. Its a Hitachi 42 inch full HD smart TV for 329.99
