irish law on DDoS attacks..?

    hi,

    what'd happen to someone who got reported to garda about DDoS attacks on a website, or someone elses computer.. what are the laws there. would judge refer to european laws regarding said legislation?

    There are a few potential offences under the Theft and Fraud Offences Act depending on the circumstances.

    Sections 1, 2, 3, 5 and 6 of the Criminal Damage Act, 1991. Most relevant being s.5.

    2001 Act is quite nuanced, but s.9 might cut the mustard.

    I don't think my local garda know how to operate a computer never mind know what a ddos attack is.
