    Hi everyone,

Not sure if this is in the right place. I'm having trouble finding what I'm looking for off Google.

My check engine light has been coming on and off for awhile so I got a code reader and it says 122 and 223.

I have not got a clue about cars and would appreciate any advice before taking mine to a mechanic.

Can anyone tell me does this mean I will need a new throttle position sensor or could it be something else? And a ball park estimate for cost of repair?

    Thanks in advance

Have you not got the codes list that goes with your reader to tell you what they are?

My universal one says for PO122:TPS/pedal position sensor A circuit low input, and for PO223 is TPS/pedal position sensor/switch B circuit high input.

Sounds like a faulty throttle position sensor.

Thanks for the replies, it's a 1.1 2005 Mitsubishi Colt.

I did look at the code book and got the same thing, that's what I was asking would you say I'd need to replace the throttle position sensor and if so around how much would it cost?

Just looking for a little advice before bringing it to a mechanic so I can at least have a bit of an idea what I'm going in to get done.

    Thanks again
