Hi i was just wondering if you can advice me about Repeating. I think i failed my exam on wesnesday as it was difficult for me.

Of course i would have to repeat in August, but if i pass my exam in august will my course work percentage be added on to it? Or will my actual grade solely be based on what i get in my repeat exam?

Also if i fail my exam this semester does that mean i lose my grant?

    Thank you.

    what year you in?

pretty sure i failed maths on monday and biology today.... but if you accum 40% at years end, then it's all good.
no need to resit anything in august if you reached the 40% pass mark at the end of the year.

im a first year and CA is scraping me through to next year..

Whether or not the CA is taken into account in August is dependent on the module. I'd send an email to the lecturer as to what the situation is.

Regarding grants, failing exams doesn't take it away. Even if you repeat in August and progress to next year, you will still get it provided you're still eligible. If you ended up repeating the whole year, you don't get the grant for the repeat year but you will on progression.

You don't normally have to pass the exams to pass the module overall. if you did well enough in your continuous assessment you could get through even if you fail the exam, you just need 40% (35% if you're eligible for compensation).

For example, I got 47% in inorganic chemistry last year (it my worst subject! :()but didn't do well in the exam at all. Got 22/30 for the continuous assessment and 25/70 in the exam.

    Best of luck. :)
