Anyone see Halpenny golf stand/display at the water protests yesterday giving out free bottles of water?

Seems like a strange thing for a business to do imo.

They might regret it considering I hear a guard was hit by one of their water bottles that were being used as missiles....oops.

    Are you serious????

No matter what your views are on water charges that's cheap and pathetic use of advertisement by halpenny imo.

Without a doubt each to their own which I why I added imo to my post.

Personally I just feel with the anger out there and the issues around tge protesting(legal or not) I think it's best companies such as halpenny stay away from it considering the potential for violence at these things.

I'm anti water charges but I'm also anti protesting by blocking the city centre streets from people going about their business but that's probably for another section on boards ;)

At least they had the sense to only give out water. Imagine the chaos that could have ensued if they had been handing out Callaway Warbirds to the crowds :D

They could have handed out old Taylor Made stock.

I just think it was ill thought out.

You arent going to make any sales on the back of supporting a protest like this, but you may well lose sales.

I dont think Coke or Pepsi would be clambering to have their products hurled at officials.

Agreed, I can't see any sense in it from a business perspective

5 texts or more in the last week with sales offers.

Slowly alienating me, just wrecks my head reading the same thing put in a different way every time.

I do agree with your main point but I highly doubt it was Halpenny's intention to have their water bottles used as weapons.

Of course, but I dont think anyone was surprised that there was trouble, handing out items that could easily be used as non traceable missiles wasn't the brightest imo.
