An Astronaut's View of Earth

What does our planet look like from the observation deck of the International Space Station? Filmmaker Guillaume Juin edited footage from five different ISS expeditions to create this cohesive, impressive time-lapse, which he paced to reflect the speed of the space station. (At 17,150 miles per hour, it completes a full orbit of Earth every 92 minutes.) Keep an eye out for flickering green and purple lights at the two-minute mark; Juin says they are fishing boats and offshore oil rigs near Bangkok.
