Make or break time for City, need CSKA to lose to Bayern in Germany and either a win or a score draw.

Kompany and Silva will be late fitness tests, need a big game out of Milner and Dzeko.

They don't need CSKA to lose, its lose or draw and if they win they are through. City will also qualify with a score draw if CSKA lose.

    Teams:

City: Hart, Clichy, Zabaleta, Demichelis, Mangala, Milner, Fernandinho, Fernando, Nasri, Navas, Dzeko

Subs: Caballero, Sagna, Kolarov, Lampard, Silva, Jovetic, Boyata

Roma: De Sanctis, Maicon, Holibas, Yanga-Mbiwa, Manolas, Keita, Nainggolan, Pjanic, Totti, Gervinho, Ljajic

Subs: Curci, Iturbe, Strootman, De Rossi, Destro, Astori, Florenzi

So? They are qualified as group winners, surprised they didn't rest more to be honest.

City looking very ropey at the back.

Roma should have done better just there

Good game, chances at both ends. Roma look uncomfortable at crosses coming in.

Did George just call Gervinho Brazilian? :pac:

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,926 ✭✭✭Sugarlumps

Gervinho looks threatening on either side.

Who is this Gervinho is he related to that useless fella at Arsenal?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,526 ✭✭✭✭Darkglasses

Hope to see Jovetic come on the second half, with CSKA drawing it kind of doesn't matter if we concede one, we still just need to score one either way.

Weathered the early wobble and have had a decent amount of possession. Now; to somehow find a goal from someone. Oh, for Sergio!

Why don't Roma have a sponsor on their shirt?

Nobody is willing to match their price tag apparently. Interestingly their shirt sales have rocketed with no sponsor on it.

    Joe Hart

Lucky not to concede in that passage of play

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,816 ✭✭✭corny

For someone who has reached the very top, Hart is really a terrible keeper.

There is generally a month during every season where he goes through an awful spell but to be fair to him he's been in decent form lately.

I don't agree. He makes a few decent saves every now and again but his positioning, decision making and command of his box are terrible.

Really can't see how he's made it this far in the game.

His shot-stopping is great, he's very quick and he's English, not much else to it. Well, and it turned out that Caballero wasn't all he's cracked up to be, that's definitely helped him earlier this year.

Fantastic result, particularly given that the heart and soul of the side was missing. Proud of the lads tonight.

Good performance by city with a weakened side, bit disappointed in romas performance, a more favourable group and they'd have qualified with ease but thats the luck of the draw.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,552 ✭✭✭✭Utopia Parkway

Had a feeling Roma would bottle it.

    Ah joke ....

City to win the league too .... done deal.

Chelsea should just score own goals between now and May ..

Huh, Giles and co. don't mention that 18 year old Juan Angel Pozo just four days ago?

Anyone know who this guy Pellegrino is, Johnny Giles seems to rate him.

Gotta say fair play to city for getting through their group . It was a very tough group .

Well done city. 3/4 premier league teams through.

Only one team of dunces eliminated.
