After Sales Service Issue

Used a window company from Mayo, who came highly recommended round here. Was very happy with sales rep, price etc. Also happy with install but noticed the day after there was a leak at top and bottom seals of one side of french door (back door & one window I got replaced too were fine) - nothing major but you can feel it when windy (which it wasn't the day of the install - Saturday).

They are saying it may be after xmas now before service guy can call - seems very long (only 9/12/14 now). Not keen on having a draft in kitchen all over xmas/new year (3/4 weeks) - esp with 2 toddlers in house. It's not a massive issue but will definitely increase heating bill a bit.

Is this normal enough timeframe? Assume I just have to be patient now.

Buy a roll of masking tape, and go around your window with it.
Sit down and relax with a glass of whisky...
    Have a nice Christmas !

And call your man the 2nd of January, and don't let go ! This has to be fixed !
    ;)

Thanks for input - have it taped for time being anyway.

In fairness, a lot of companies are closing next week for Christmas, and some not back til 12th January, as everybody wants everything done for Christmas, so whilst not ideal, it's not that far off.

    Ode To The Motorist

“And my existence, while grotesque and incomprehensible to you, generates funds to the exchequer. You don't want to acknowledge that as truth because, deep down in places you don't talk about at the Green Party, you want me on that road, you need me on that road. We use words like freedom, enjoyment, sport and community. We use these words as the backbone of a life spent instilling those values in our families and loved ones. You use them as a punch line. I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the tax revenue and the very freedom to spend it that I provide, and then questions the manner in which I provide it. I would rather you just said "thank you" and went on your way. Otherwise I suggest you pick up a bus pass and get the ********* ********* off the road”

Yes 3-4 weeks for a service call seems to be the normal from the large window companies at the moment
