Property Company does not know who supplied communal dish

I've just moved to a new apartment and I currently have an account with Sky. Part of the house rules is that no satellite dish can be installed. Sky have informed me that my building have a communal dish but they cannot find the shared dish number therefore they do not think KBO (this is the company who install shared dishes and have contracts with Sky) are who installed the dish. Whoever did, can come out and basically hook me up to sky. I contacted the property management company who have informed me that they do not know who installed the communal dish. They took over management of the building so it was installed before their time. So, they are unable to tell me basic information about the property...but I am still not allowed put up my own dish. Can anyone suggest any ways out of this? I don't want UPC, I love Sky and I'm fuming at the property management company.

Why do the company that installed the dish have to be the ones to connect you up? I would like to think any Sky installer could/would do it.

As it's not a Sky dish they are not allowed tamper with it.

Ah right fair enough. Thats not very helpful from the management company, could you ask some of your new neighbours do they know anything about it.

Yes I think it is the next option for me, fingers crossed someone knows something. I just think it's absurd that the company managing the building cannot tell me anything about the communal dish. I'm outraged.

Management companies are in the main absolute assholes we have one where im living and getting them to do anything is a nightmare. I wonder would some installer at least check out the system in place there and then you can let Sky know the story. It wouldn't be a hard job to sort it out especially if others there are receiving Sky. Any competent installer could possibly sort it.
