Audi a3 electrical issues

Looking for opinion if you can help

( and thanks for all advice so far in this forum, it been great )

audi a3 2002 , just had the alternator reconned after it died a 5 weeks ago ,

then the fuse box on the battery melted at the alternator cable to battery connection two weeks ago, this was replaced.

i notice now that the new one is starting to slightly melt a tiny bit , and i am getting intermittent check engine light

( this used to flash up the odd time before the alternator and then the fuze box died. )

reading the internet it seems these cars had a fault that the
alternator cable to battery could not take the load after a few years and they overheated ,

would it be better to stick a thicker home made cable from batt to alt , or buy a new proper cable ?

or am i on the wrong track altogether ?

mods you can close this one ,

I got this fixed by an auto electrician , by bypassing the fuze box and putting in a dedicated one for the alternator .
