Car service - invoice issue on part

Just looking for some opinions on a problem we are having with a garage that serviced the used car we bought from them.

We bought the car with just a few hundred km's over the service interval. We were told it had been fully serviced. A few thousand km's later and it is due its next service plus a problem occured with a part that was covered by the warranty. Unfortunately the garage then said that another part had to be replaced for just under €100.
The issue we have is that this second part should have been replaced when it had the service before we bought it. The manual says it should have been replaced then and another garage that checked out the warranty faulty part said it was well overdue replacing.

The garage is saying that it didn't show up on their system for replacing but clearly the manufacturers manual contradicts this. I am disputing this but they have just sent us another invoice for it.

Just interested if other people have experience in a similar situation and what the outcome was.

did you pay for this previous service? If not then you can have no expectation of having this part replaced for free. out of curiosity what part are you talking about?

telling us the car and part in question would allow us give you a much better response in this case :)

The make/model of car and the name of the parts that need, or needed replacing might be helpful :p

Thanks, it's the fuel filter for a Kia Ceed. It was serviced by the garage we bought it from just before we completed the sale and we were told the full service was done. It was just over 60,000km.

Maybe I'm missing something, but €100 for fuel filter seems a tad expensive. the part on mister auto, depending on the engine, comes in at no more than €25, so that would be €75 for fitting?
