how to improve breathing

when lifting weights I find my breathing gets very fast. It doesn't seem to affect me as much at the start but after about 30 minutes I start to get worn out and breathing fast causing me to stop lifting rather than getting the burn.

for example today I was doing dips half way through my workout. I understand breath out when lifting the weight up and breath in when letting the weight back down. Now I was doing dips and breathing out when exerting the force but as doing that and when the weight was at the top I needed to breathe in again before letting the weight back down. As in my heart was going so fast that I couldn't wait until I was dropping the weight to breathe in. It was almost like needing two breathes for every rep.

how do I improve and not get my heart racing as fast.

Check out Darkside Strength on Facebook. Some really good stuff on breathing.

I am actually wondering could it be down to the pre workout. It only affects me there with the past month or so. Did the dog today and had two scoops of pre workout today.
Might cut it down to just half a scoop the next day and see how I get on.

No harm in examining all of it but if your basic breathing isn't right then the rest of it won't be.

Learned a lot from them myself.
