Last week I finally filled my tank up with oil.Happy days. Was delighted until the delivery man told me AFTER it was full that the tank doesn't look in good shape and that I'd really need a new one. It's slightly out of view so I hadn't looked at it in a while but I see now that it does look like there's a bulge on one side of it.

Now I'm really quite worried that something might happen to it before it's empty again which I wouldn't forsee happening until this time next year ideally. Is there anything I can do? Could I get a new tank and have someone transfer the oil from the old tank into the new one? Or do I just need to wait and hope it will be ok?
I would very grateful for any advice.

The oil companies usually have contacts for doing this kind of thing. You could contact your house insurance company.

I would be reluctant to suggest putting a ratchet strap on it, without seeing it.

Please follow site and charter rules. "Resistance is futile"

If you're a regular of the oil company they may come out and empty your tank and refill the new one. When I moved from Kero to gas I remember I found a company that would even buy the remainder of the Kero. I think it was 5% less than their sell rate.

When I got my new tank a few years back the installer was able to transfer the oil from the old to the new one
