We're thinking of heading up North for some Christmas shopping week after next and as I haven't heard of anyone who has been recently, I wonder if anyone can provide me with some information of where to go or any bargains up there they know of. Links would be great too. Thanks in advance.

    Is that not unpatriotic?

I don't think the currency rate is in our favour right now, so wouldn't think it would be economical. Personally I've never found it financially worth it, except if your buying alcohol, anything else can be bought here or online!

I'm actually here now and have probably wasted my time..

Stopped in the Outlet in Banbridge on the way up but there was pretty much nothing.

The shops here have the same offers and exchange rate is crap, so I honestly wouldn't waste petrol money!

I live in Belfast and travel home regularly. Not much difference in retail prices (utilities and rent much lower however). Asda and Sainsburys do good deals on booze this time of year though, large spirits should be around £15.

From just across the border in Donegal, very few people going across the border to shop this year, exchange rage not favourable. If anything I think it's going the other way, plenty of northerners shopping in Letterkenny it would seem...

Thanks everyone, decided to shop local. It was just an idea for a day out for myself and my husband.
