This fridge freezer seems to have surges where the ice compartments freeze up solid .

I clean down all the ice to ensure door is closing , and it keeps happening every few weeks .

Anyone know how to fix this . / anyone know an easy way of clearing frozen ice ?

is the ice build up soft snowy ice or hard ice build up? if soft snowy type ice you have a door that is not sealing properly or the magnetic seal is split allowing outside temps to enter the cabinet, if hard ice build up you have an insulation breakdown in the cabinet causing an overrun on the compressor. to check for sealing open top door and look down on edges of bottom door reverse for top.

Yes, a complete defrost would clear the built up ice from the chiller pipes as ice is actually a good insulator, so the compressor has to work much harder to cool the cabinet while the blocks of ice just continue to grow.
