Problem with saorsat

Hi, sorry if this is a newbie question.
I just got a FTA box and I have tuned all the available English channels, BBC, Itv etc with no problem.

I then enter the frequencies for the saor sat channels. It is able to locate all the channels but it says they are all encrypted, it says RTE 1 (encrypted) and wont let me tune them in.

Does anyone know how I can add them or if I am using the wrong frequencies?

    Thanks

Saorsat is a different satellite and a different LNB.

Yes I thought that, but it can still pick them up on a channel search, does that mean equipment is suitable if it can find it?

Thanks, I thought if they showed up on the channel list I could receive it, didn't know I needed a different LNB. Thanks again.

What's showing up on your channel list, in a scan of the satellites at 28 degrees east, are the encrypted versions of the Irish channels that are only available with a Sky subscription.

Not just a different LNB, but a satellite dish pointing at a different part of the sky.

Yeah, I seen some things online where 2 can be put on one satellite, seems to be too complicated, might just invest to get saor view.

Saorview is the most user friendly option if you can get it at your location, Also Saorsat doesn't carry TV3/3e or the future UTV Ireland.

If the TV is relatively new it may have a Saorview tuner fitted and only need a suitable aerial connected.

Soarsat also doesn't have RTE1HD, it really is a farcical system and it should be closed down or else expanded to be an exact duplicate of Saorview. At the moment it's a waste of time and it's large 1 metre dish requirement isn't a great help either.

    Closing down - I don't agree with.
Saorsat is needed for parts of the Country that can't get a saorview reception.

It would possibly take a change of legislation at the moment for saorsat to become a duplicate of saorview.
