Scratch proof coating on lens

I bought a new pair of glasses this time last year and got the scratch proof coating on them. After a month i noticed flecks of the coating were coming off on one lens. A year later the same lens is almost completely devoid of the coating and now is hard to see through. If i look in the mirror it looks worse, almost reflective of light. I should mention its only on the outside of the lens.

I'm wondering if anyone else has had this problem.

Sometimes there can be a batch of faulty lenses. More likely there has been something that has interfered with the lens. Have you been leaving them on the dash of your car? Or somewhere were the temperature can vary widely? Has any solvents come into contact with the lens?
